And of course, Al Sharpton once again rears his ugly head, showboating and race-baiting with the worst of them. The self-appointed spokesman for the black race and guardian of the public morals said this about the Paris Hilton case:
"Though I have nothing but empathy for Ms. Hilton....this early release gives all of the appearances of economic and racial favoritism that is constantly cited by poor people and people of color..."
Really? It's been reported that the typical sentence for such an offense is anywhere from a few hours to a few days. If favoritism exists in this case, why did she get 45 days?
I wonder what Sharpton would say if it were Whitney Houston instead of Paris Hilton heading for the clinker?
